Tencel Fabric

Tencel Fabric

Tencel, which is also referred to as Lyocell, is a fabric that’s made using wood pulp from sustainable trees grown and replaced on specialized tree farms. The material is produced from recyclable, earth-friendly solvents. Tencel is certified by the international Forest Stewardship Council and is 100 percent biodegradable. Furthermore, Tencel is best known for its impressive comfort. It can also be combined with a wide range of other textile fibers such as wool, silk, polyester, acrylic, and cotton.

Utilize the flexibility of the fiber to make pieces that match your style, and get ready for maximum comfort. Tencel fabric from Asher Fabric Concepts has a luxurious hand and is also environmentally safe.

Is Tencel Natural?

Although Tencel is a manufactured fiber, it is not considered synthetic. It is not natural either since it’s not directly produced from plants or animals. Tencel is basically a sustainable fabric, regenerated from wood cellulose similar to rayon and bamboo. However, Tencel stands out because it is one of the most environmentally friendly regenerated fabrics. Technically, for a material to use the name Tencel, it must contain at least 30 percent of Lyocell fiber.

Should You Wear Tencel When Traveling?

Absolutely yes. Lyocell, commonly referred by its brand name, Tencel, is a semi-synthetic form of rayon. It is soft, strong, machine-washable and wrinkle-resistant. Tencel is also shrink-resistant. The material will only shrink to about 3 percent when first washed and will not shrink again after that. Everyone wants to get to their destination looking fresh and polished. However, this can be quite challenging if the outfit you chose gets wrinkles. That’s why Tencel would be a perfect choice for traveling.

Is Tencel Suitable for Wet Wrapping and For People with Eczema?

Tencel is eco-friendly and does not contain any dyes. The fact that Tencel greatly inhibits the growth of bacteria in a fabric is crucial since this is what people with eczema really need. In most cases, individuals with eczema may also have other skin infections. Thus, they need to wear a fabric that is soft to avoid irritating, and Tencel has a smooth and silky feel. Moreover, it continues to be soft even when used for wet wrapping while other fabrics will stiffen as they dry.

Is Tencel Fabric Best for Summer?

Tencel is best known for being a natural fiber that is soft and luxurious. It has natural breathability and is excellent for moisture absorption. In fact, it is 50 percent more absorbent than cotton. Tencel fabric is best known to give your skin that long-lasting softness, keeping you fresh and cool thus making it suitable for summer wear.

What Makes Tencel a Worthy Choice?

Tencel has impressive qualities such as comfort, durability, rich in color, and easy to maintain which makes it a great fabric choice. What’s more, Tencel is easy to care for, and it’s also exceptionally strong. Although different garments come with different specifications for their maintenance, Tencel is easy to maintain and care for in terms of washing, drying, and packing.
